Some paintings begin with something I couldn’t stop seeing. Some begin with a surface that simply appeared and asked to be painted.

I’m Brenda Pieczenik — Bpie — a Miami-based artist with seven active series and over forty works. I paint on canvas, wood, wicker, and whatever else presents itself.

My work spans the ancient and the immediate — a series rooted in a 2,000-year-old Jewish text, paintings made from walks through Miami, sculptures built on repurposed luxury boxes, abstract works that begin with a veil and end in surprise.

I hope for everything I make to be a conversation or a song.
